Champaign County Christian Health Center is a not for profit health center founded in 2003. Our mission is to show and share the love of Jesus Christ to our neighbors of Champaign County by providing holistic, free, and quality health care services.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

GENERAL:

The goal of CCCHC is to provide the highest quality care to our clients. To that end, volunteers must treat all clients and other volunteers with the highest regard. This means to treat all that seek our help as the brothers and sisters in Christ that they are; showing love, mercy and compassion. Treat each sister/brother with respect and dignity maintaining complete confidentiality with regards to all information that you may encounter. In this way, we may seek to e Jesus to all who enter our doors.

CCCHC has many volunteer opportunities, both medical and non-medical. There are many ways to help and we feel that, as a CCCHC volunteer, you will be blessed as you give of your time and resources. Thank you for your prayerful consideration of offering your gifts and talents to all of Gods people through CCCHC.

VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTIONS:


SET UP
Arrive 30 minutes before clinic opens.
Check all clinic areas and bathrooms. Clean if necessary.
Assist with moving furniture in order to set up clinic stations.
Put out refreshments.
Other duties as assigned.


COOKS
Provides volunteers with food on clinic nights.
Arrives 15 minutes before clinic begins to set up food.



GREETER
Greet client as they enter the waiting area, and note client time of arrival.
Take client name and ensure that we have existing folder.
If client does not have folder, issue the new client proper forms and assemble new client folder. Assist client in filling out unfamiliar forms.
Do whatever is necessary to make the client feel welcomed, relaxed and comfortable including light conversation with patient and family.
Explain to the client what will happen at each station in the clinic.
Other duties as assigned.

CLIENT FLOW ASSISTANT
Ensure clients get from one clinic area to the next.
Ensure every time a provider is finished with a client, another client has been triaged and is waiting to be seen.

INTERPRETERS/ FLOATERS
Greet clients as they enter the clinic in their native language.
Identify yourself as an interpreter and explain your language skill level to client.
Assist client with filling our required medical forms. Some forms are available in Spanish.
Accompany clients as they progress through the clinic stations, providing interpretation between client and provider as needed.
If no native language speakers are present at clinic, Interpreter should be able to help as a greeter or client flow volunteer, if needed.
Other duties as assigned.

SPIRITUAL CARE
Discuss spiritual needs of patient and ask their permission to pray with them.
Seek permission from patient to communicate any needs to the provider that may affect health outcomes.
Other duties as assigned.

DISCHARGE PATIENT EDUCATION - RN
Requires RN background.
Reviews medication and/or treatments prescribed by provider with client.
Answers clients questions regarding medication/treatment, insuring the clients understanding of their role in the treatment process.
Initiates client education as indicated.
Provides client with outside resources to improve health outcomes.
Records all interactions with client concerning their care in medical chart.
Other duties as assigned.

DISCHARGE PATIENT EDUCATION - Social Worker
Requires LCSW status or Masters program social work student willing to work with LCSW.
Speaks with client about various social services needs.
Other duties as assigned.



CLEAN UP
Arrive ½ hour before clinic closes for the evening.
Collect volunteer sign in sheets and put in CCCHC office.
Put away refreshments. Return furniture to where it belongs.
Empty garbage.
Other duties as assigned.



OFFICE/CLERICAL
Available at non-clinic times to assist with office work. Schedule to be determined by volunteer and directors needs.
Make up new client charts.
Refile charts, as needed.
Make labels for charts.
Make copies, as needed.
Answer phones; take appointment calls.
Clean/refill supply cabinets.
Assist with inventory.
Other duties as assigned.

PSYCHIATRY
Provides clients with psychiatric assistance.



PHYSICAL THERAPY
Provides clients with physical therapy.
